A profile in MES is what ties the queue, process steps, print profiles, start modes, etc together. The MES profile serves a ”commander” and it instructs the other “sub-properties” what it wants them to do to make it happy and to work to its liking. Tasks -> work with profile allocations -> add/remove is at the bottom of the dialog box. You can add the profile to a certain machine if the machine name is known. The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Application performs the process steps necessary to create a commodity. These process steps could be scanning barcodes, waiting for a sensor to turn on (for example, loading a component), performing a torque, or sending information to the system. An operator will be performing some of these process steps, interacting with the display.
